Mission Statement
We are a fellowship of women seeking to do Christ's will in all that we think, say and do.
We are a praying fellowship - for Friends' mission work and workers at home and abroad as we seek the peace of Christ for our world.
We are a learning fellowship - for the enlightenment of ourselves so that we may better understand the world of people we serve.
We are a working fellowship - so our hands may respond creatively through service to our fellowman.
PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Iowa United Society of Friends Women is as follows:
· To enlist and unite all Friends Women of Iowa in furtherance of the Kingdom of Christ through fellowship and service
· To work cooperatively with Iowa Yearly Meeting
· To share in the mission of the church everywhere
· To stimulate spiritual development
· To cultivate Christian stewardship
· To nurture education for missions among Friends including youth and children
Through study and active participation in the programs of the United Society of Friends Women in Iowa, we increase our concerns to the needs of those around us. Some of these concerns are met by the local Society, others by the combined Societies working together at all levels.
The framework of the Iowa United Society of Friends Women is flexible enough to allow Societies to adjust practices and procedures to their own situations
